Frequently Asked Questions

How long should I drive my car after a jump-start?

After a jump start, it's generally recommended to drive for at least 30 minutes, ideally at highway speeds, to allow the alternator to begin recharging the battery. However, if you've just had a jump, don't assume the battery is fully charged. Drive the car for at least 30 minutes, preferably at highway speeds, to allow the alternator to recharge the battery. If the car struggles to start the next morning, it's likely the battery didn't hold the charge and may need replacement

Will roadside assistance bring you a battery?

Emergency Roadside Service typically covers: Towing your covered vehicle to the nearest repair facility if it's on a public road and can't be started or driven without causing damage. Delivery of gas, oil, a battery or tires, as required to make your covered vehicle drivable.

Why won't my battery jump start?

A jump start might fail for several reasons, including a truly dead battery, faulty jumper cables, loose or corroded battery terminals, a broken starter, or a problem with the neutral safety switch. Additionally, a low voltage in the battery, even after attempting to jump start, can prevent a successful start.

Will my battery be OK after a jump start?

A car battery can usually be okay after a jump start, but it depends on the reason for the battery drain and the battery's overall condition. If the battery drain was due to a temporary issue like leaving lights on, the battery may be fine after a recharge. However, if the battery is old or has other issues, it might not hold a charge properly after a jump start and may need replacement.

Why wont my battery jump just clicks?

When a car won't jumpstart and only clicks, the issue is likely with the starter motor or starter solenoid, not necessarily the battery. A weak or dead battery will cause the clicking sound and prevent the starter from engaging. However, if the battery seems good, the problem could be with the starter motor or solenoid.
